Steps to Use the Trading Journal

  1. Open the Trading Journal Widget:

    • Add the Trading Journal Widget to your workspace from the widget menu.

  2. View Past Trades:

    • Review your trading history, including:

      • Instrument name.

      • Trade date and time.

      • Entry and exit prices.

      • Profit and loss (P&L).

  3. Add Tags to Trades:

    • Assign predefined tags such as:

      • News: Trades influenced by news events.

      • Strategy: Trades executed as part of a planned strategy.

      • Impulse: Quick trades based on momentum or gut feeling.

      • Error: Mistakes or unintended trades.

  4. Add Notes to Trades:

    • Click on a trade to write custom notes. Use notes to:

      • Record reasons for entering/exiting a trade.

      • Highlight lessons learned.

      • Document unexpected market behavior.

  5. Filter and Search Trades:

    • Use tags and date filters to organize and analyze trades more effectively.


Example Notes

  1. "Entered a long position after a breakout above resistance at $100. Exited early due to low volume."

  2. "Closed position after unexpected increased volatility."

  3. "Mistake: Entered trade with incorrect lot size."

  • Regularly review your journal to identify patterns, refine strategies, and improve decision-making.
