Why Your Orders May Not Be Visible on the Chart
If you’ve placed an order but don’t see it reflected on the chart, it may be due to selecting the rolling contract instead of the front-month contract when searching for the instrument.
How to Select the Correct Contract
Go to the Instrument Search Bar
Click on the search bar at the top of the platform.
Type the symbol for the instrument you're trading (e.g., NQ for Nasdaq futures).
Avoid Selecting the Rolling Contract (/NQ:XCME)
By default, the search results may show a general rolling contract (e.g., /NQ:XCME).
This rolling contract does not always track the exact contract month you are trading.
Select the Front-Month Futures Contract
Instead of clicking on /NQ:XCME, go to the Futures tab next to "All."
Locate the front-month contract (e.g., /NQH25:XCME for March 2025).
Click on the correct contract to ensure your orders are displayed on the chart.
Confirm Your Orders Are Now Visible
Once the correct contract is selected, your active orders should now be displayed properly on the chart.
Why This Matters
The rolling contract is a continuous futures contract and may not always match your traded contract month.
The front-month contract (e.g., /NQH25:XCME) ensures that your chart aligns with the actual orders you placed.
Pro Tip
Always double-check that you are trading the correct contract month before placing orders.
If you switch contracts, ensure your chart is set to the same contract to avoid confusion.
