Linking Components by Symbol - ProjectX

Link components by color to sync symbols across tools. Change a symbol in one, and all linked components update automatically.

Updated over a week ago

Linking components allows you to sync multiple components to a common symbol. For example, when you change the symbol in one component (like the Order Ticket), other linked components—such as the Chart, DOM, and Time & Sales—will update automatically to reflect the same symbol.

How to Link Components Using Color

To link components:

  1. Click the color link icon next to each component's header.

  2. Choose a color (e.g., blue) to assign a shared link between components.

  3. All components with the same color will now stay in sync.

For example, linking Time & Sales to blue means it will follow symbol changes made in any other blue-linked component.

How to Link a Chart Using the Link Indicator

Linking charts works slightly differently:

  1. Click to highlight the chart you want to link.

  2. In the top toolbar, click "Add Chart Link".

  3. This will add a special "Link" indicator to the chart.

  4. Expand the indicator list, locate "Link", and choose your desired color.

Tip: If you don’t see the Link indicator, make sure to expand the chart’s indicator list.

Now, anytime you change the symbol in one blue-linked component, all other blue-linked components will automatically update to display the same symbol.
