The Account Metrics Bar provides critical financial data for managing your trades effectively. Here’s how to understand and customize it for your needs.

The Account Metrics Bar is conveniently located in the top-right corner of your trading dashboard. Look for a row displaying key financial data such as Balance, Equity, and Net Liquidation.

Customizing Your Metrics Bar

To access additional customization options, click the small arrow icon on the far-right of the Metrics Bar to open the Header Customization panel.

Follow these steps to add or remove metrics:

  1. Click the arrow on the right-hand side of the Metrics Bar.

  2. Select "Header Customization" from the dropdown menu.

  3. Drag and drop metrics:

    • From the left panel ("Available Metrics") to add to the bar.

    • From the right panel ("Current Metrics") to remove from the bar.

  4. Click Apply to save changes.

Key Metrics and Definitions

  1. Balance:

    • The total amount of money in your account, including profits and losses from closed trades.
      (Example: After closing a trade with $500 profit, your balance increases by $500.)

  2. Equity:

    • The current value of your account, including unrealized profits and losses from open positions.
      Formula: Equity = Balance + P&L of Open Positions

  3. Net Liquidation:

    • The total value of your account if all open positions were liquidated immediately.

  4. Future Available Funds:

    • The remaining funds available for opening new positions after accounting for margin requirements.

  5. Market Value Long:

    • The total value of all open long positions (buy trades).

  6. Market Value Short:

    • The total value of all open short positions (sell trades).

  7. Future Maintenance Excess:

    • The funds exceeding the required maintenance margin for your current positions.

  8. Initial Margin:

    • The minimum amount required to open new positions.

  9. Maintenance Margin:

    • The minimum balance required to keep positions open.

  10. Overnight Initial Margin:

    • The initial margin required for positions held overnight.

  11. Overnight Maintenance Margin:

    • The margin required to maintain positions overnight.

  12. Unrealized P&L (Profit and Loss):

    • The profit or loss from open positions, not yet realized by closing the trades.

  13. Equity-to-Margin:

    • The ratio of your account equity to the margin used. A key metric for risk management.

  • Prioritize essential metrics like Equity, Unrealized P&L, and Net Liquidation for real-time trading decisions.

  • Regularly review Future Maintenance Excess to ensure adequate funds for active positions.

  • Keep Equity-to-Margin above critical thresholds to avoid margin calls.
