Important Notes About Rithmic Connections

Rithmic connections can be sensitive to communication issues and CPU load, so be aware of the following potential issues:

  1. Plug-In Issues

    • If you enable the plugin connection, you won’t be able to connect without the plugin until you restart the application.

  2. Multiple Connections

    • If you create two connections (one with the plugin and one without), the second one won’t connect.

  3. Server Availability

    • If a Rithmic server is unavailable, the connection may take a long time to close, causing delays. Switching servers may require waiting for the previous connection to fully close.

  4. Connection Lost

    • If the connection is lost, ATAS will notify you with a pop-up message.

  5. Potential Connection Loss

    • If there’s an issue with data exchange between Rithmic and ATAS, you’ll receive messages like:
PnL Connection - Heartbeat has been quiet for XX seconds.”

    • These messages might indicate problems with the PnL, trading, or historical data connections.

Actions to Take in Case of Connection Issues

  1. PnL Connection Issues:

    • Data like price, volume, and position direction on ATAS may differ from Rithmic’s servers.

  2. Trading Connection Issues:

    • Orders may be sent to Rithmic, but their status might not be reflected in ATAS.

  3. Handling Alerts:

    • If you receive messages like "PnL Connection - Heartbeat has been quiet for XX seconds", ATAS will show a pop-up with the details.

  4. Order Confirmation After Alerts:

    • When you receive such messages, ATAS will require confirmation for any new orders or changes to your position. This confirmation will display all previous Rithmic messages you’ve received.
