Connecting Quantower to Rithmic

Learn how to connect Quantower to Rithmic for smooth trading.

Updated this week

QUANTOWER LICENSE

Your Quantower license is linked to your Rithmic account with us, so there's no need to enter a License number anywhere. Just sign into our "DayTraders.com" server in Quantower with the Rithmic account we created for you and you will get access to the license features.

Before setting up your connection, please ensure you are using the latest Quantower version.

This guide combines two key aspects of using Quantower with Rithmic: how to connect Quantower to Rithmic and how to set up the platform, from downloading it to placing your first trade. Follow these steps for a smooth and efficient experience.

Step 1: Download and Install Quantower

  1. Download Quantower
    Click on the Download button

  2. The download will begin automatically.

  3. Install Quantower
Once downloaded, open the installer file and follow the prompts to install Quantower. After the installation is complete, launch the platform.

Step 2: Connecting Quantower to Rithmic

  1. Sign your Rithmic Aggreements

    • Sign in to Rithmic's Agreements webpage by clicking HERE.

    • Use the Rithmic credentials found in your Dashboard.

  2. Sign the Agreements

    • Before proceeding, ensure you have signed all required agreements.

    • Note: The credentials must be entered exactly as provided, as they are case-sensitive, if you are having trouble signing in remember to check for additional spaces.

  3. Start Quantower

    • Open the Quantower application.

    • Search for "DayTraders.com" in the left-hand menu and select it.

    • Go to Connection Settings and UNcheck the box labeled "Use rTrader".

  4. Enter Credentials and Connect

    • Enter the same credentials you used for rTrader.

    • Click Connect to complete the setup.

  5. Log into rTrader with Market Data OFF

    • After signing the agreements, log into your rTrader.

    • Ensure Market Data is turned OFF.

    • Keep rTrader open during your trading session. This is critical in case you need to manually exit a position.

**Important Note: Make sure you are disconnected from "dxfeed" to avoid any issues and error messages that can occur.

Step 3: Configuring Your Workspace

Quantower provides customizable workspaces based on asset types.

  1. Select a Workspace Template
Click on the Workspace button and choose the pre-built template for Futures. Or you can also create your own layout. (Keep in mind that we only offer Futures Trading)

  2. Add Widgets
Add chart panels, depth of market (DOM), and other tools by clicking on the + button and selecting the desired widgets.

  3. Arrange Your Workspace
Drag and drop widgets to organize your workspace to fit your trading style.

Step 4: Getting Started with Charts

  1. Open a Chart
Click the + icon and select Chart from the menu. Choose the asset you want to trade by searching for the instrument or selecting it from your broker’s list.

  2. Customize the Chart

    • Select different chart types (Candlestick, Bar, Line, etc.) and timeframes (1 min, 5 min, 1 hour, etc.).

    • Right-click on the chart to add indicators such as RSI, MACD, or Bollinger Bands.

Step 5: Placing Your First Trade

  1. Open the DOM (Depth of Market)
To place a trade, click on the + icon and choose DOM Trader. The DOM shows current buy and sell orders at different price levels.

  2. Place a Market Order
Select the asset in the DOM Trader window and click Buy Market or Sell Market to place a market order at the current price.

  3. Place a Limit or Stop Order
Click on the price level in the DOM to place a Limit Order. For a Stop Order, right-click the price level and confirm the order in the pop-up window.

  4. Monitor and Manage Trades
Open the Positions & Orders window to track active trades. Close positions or modify stop-loss/take-profit levels from this panel.

Step 6: Practice with a Demo Account (Optional)

  1. Connect to a Demo Broker
Follow the connection steps from earlier but select a broker that offers demo accounts (e.g., Rithmic Demo, CQG Demo).

  2. Simulate Trades
Practice placing trades and testing strategies without risking real money. You can also use Quantower’s Backtesting feature to test strategies with historical data.
