Do Sundays and holidays count as trading days?

Trading hours adjust on Sundays and holidays. Sunday trades start at 6 PM ET as part of Monday; holiday hours vary by market schedule

Updated over a month ago

Trading schedules adjust on Sundays and holidays. Sunday trading begins at 6 PM ET and counts as part of Monday’s trading session, while trading on market-open holidays is allowed.

However, on half-day holidays, these sessions don’t count as full trading days. The standard trading day runs from 6 PM ET until 4:59 PM ET the next day.

For important dates and to stay updated on trading schedules, make sure to check the CME Group Holiday Calendar. This will help you plan your trades around market holidays and closures effectively.
